Cleaning Of The G15
Last year she had been varnished and shone in the new garment since then. But the tooth of time provided for the fact that after some months environmental tracks became visible in her skin. This was the reason for a high speed cleaning of the G15 at the Bremen airport.
Hence, six members of the Friends Of The VFW 614 plus a child met on Saturday 28th April, 2007 in the morning to clean the airplane. Supported by the airport fire brigade which made available ladders and a fire hose the works began during beautiful sunshine weather.

First of all the 614 was pretreated with the tube. Then the buckets, scrubbing brushes and sponges which were also provided were used. Expert help especially came from the smallest assistant Jannis Emrich, the son of our member Anja, who was active at the wheels first, then he used the scrubbing brush on the lower side of the fuselage.

The team performed outstandingly. After 2 hours of hard "sweating away" in beaming weather one could not look at the aircraft without sunglasses any more ... As last year the airport reciprocated by providing a substantial breakfast for all helpers.

Nice side effect: An interested young man who had arrived from Bonn especially to have a look at the Lufthansa Airline Pilot School LFT towards (his most ardent career aspiration was to become a pilot) stood piously in front of "our" machine. He was the only visitor that morning who had the opportunity to see the cockpit. He certainly will become a pilot ...
